They stood tall and the score line flattered the play

The boys came out firing on all cylinders on a bright, sunny, but very windy day in Solihull. Sihillians have a very good reputation and we saw that this afternoon it was justly earned. Their distribution and particularly the play of their 10 and 12 were really good to watch.

Play went back and forth for most of the first half and Sihillians went into half time 26-0 up. The tries came from some good movement of the ball down the line, some individual brilliance and great handling. What wasn't going so well for Sills was the scrum, the Shipston pack were monumental we won the ball against the head twice! Sills couldn't, and didn't, get the upper hand in the forwards.

As a team we worked hard to hold them, they were fast and we missed tackles through their shear speed. However we doggedly stuck to, playing together and held them back in their half over and over.

The game was nearing its end and the score line was 48-0. Did the Shipston boys drop their heads? Leading from the front George Hendy took a quick penalty, ran into Sills and refused to give. Another penalty and again he was onto them swiftly, ably supported by Joe Painter. Ball went to Henry and out to George V who pinned back his ears and wound his way over the try line in the corner to finish the game with a try to lift the hearts of all the supporters.

This week's misdemeanours:
Ethan Houghton for travelling all the way to Solihull without his gumshield making his fellow forward dog it out for the full 60 and having the worst excuse for not wearing a club tie (it doesn't go with my shirt....)
Charlie Bothwell (again!) for not only failing to wear a tie, but doing so having lost Pete Dews. His mum is having to buy not one but two. A heinous crime indeed.
