A strong performance from Shipston U15 saw them beat a determined Harbury side 66-5 on Sunday 18 October.
Shipston took an early lead with outside centre Marcus Creagh breaking through to score under the posts with Henry Hopkins adding the conversion. Straight from the kick off hooker Alex Sabin gathered the kick, broke through tackles and raced away to add a second try under the posts, which Hopkins converted.
Shipston were dominant and further tries from Sabin (2), Ed Turner and Creagh took the lead up to 38-0 approaching half time. With a minute to go Hopkins added a 7th try gathering his own kick to score under the posts and then add the extra’s, giving Shipston a 45-0 half time lead.
Harbury came out determined in the second half and had a period of strong possession and territory but Shipston soon broke away with left wing James Laister scoring a debut try. Further converted second half tries were scored by Chris Barker-Harland and a fourth try for man of the match Sabin to take the score to 66-0.
Harbury were determined to get on the score sheet and their hard work paid off with a score in the corner in the last few minutes to give a final score of 66-5.
