Shipston fall short to a well drilled Hinckley outfit.

Shipston record their first loss of the season to a strong Hinckley team who ran out 51-23 winners.

The u15s first foray into Leicestershire saw them come up against a very strong Hinckley outfit. The hosts were a well drilled and physical outfit with Leicester Academy and other representative players in their ranks.

Hinckley dominated all aspects of the game, forcing our lads to defend for significant periods of the game. With 10 minutes to go our lads kept them within two scores, but the amount of defending took its toll in the last 10 minutes when Hinckley ran in 3 late tries to build a comprehensive score.

In fairness to our lads they played with great spirit to the final whistle, and tenacity from the restart to get to the receiver by an impressive Will Jackson, saw us force Hinckley into an error behind their own line that allowed Matt Speechley to sneak a late try.

Sometimes you just have to admit that you came up against a better team - today was one of those days.

We'll dust ourselves off and now focus on learning the lessons worth learning and developing those aspects of our play that we can improve.
