High Class rugby at Old Covs

Shipston u15s produce high class Rugby to beat Old Covs.

The u15s produced some expansive and high quality Rugby to come out on top against Old Covs 41-0.

Giving away a fair degree of weight and height, the first 20 minutes of the game was tight with both teams weighing each other up.

Despite a significant Old Covs weight advantage up front, our front row of Harry Mack, Freddie Venables and Sam Bowers used their scrummaging technique to take charge of the set piece from the word go, and dominated this aspect of the game for the full 60 minutes.

It was this solid foundation that allowed our backline to turn on the class for a series of very attractive tries, in many instances from deep in our own half.

Apart from the front row, who I thought were top draw today, I don't want to single any others players out because this was a fantastic group performance - full of grit and determination - but most pleasing was the clear team ethos within our group.
