U14s win against an improving Trinity Guild

Trinity guild travelled to Shipston for one of the most friendly fixtures we have in the season. Shipston donated players to make the sides even and assure a 15 man game. The game started at great pace and Charlie Yates was soon over for Trinity Guild. Charlie Dews, having forgotten his scrum cap was playing in the backs and keen to show a turn of speed for Shipston, he was stopped short of the line but off loaded to Sam who scored. Henry went over from some open play for Shipston's second, and Charlie Dews followed up leaving Will for dead to score his first of the day (he's supposed to be a forward!)

Harry took the play forward well with a storming run followed by Aaron in support who took the offload and scored a lovely try.

Charlie Yates was back showing some individual flare to score Trinity's second. Shipston were back on the attack with Jack Deans making a lovely break and gaining good ground before the ball was passed through several hands to Archie who scored a super try, good to see him on the scoresheet, he's so often in support.

George Hendy broke through the Shipston defence with an elusive run, leaving them for dead to score Trinity's third. Trinity were suffering a little from being two teams, their core team and a group of boys in white from Shipston who know each other so well it was hard to integrate.

The second half again saw Charlie Dews showing us his heels with another try. Charlie Yates stole the ball neatly from Shipston to fly through for his hat trick. Charlie Bygate broke through under the post for his first of two super try's, he was on good form all morning. Harry got a well deserved try, his work rate never falters. Alistair showed his usual flair for Shipston's tenth and Henry rounded of the game with a good run through for his second of the day.

Shipston were the class team today, but it was great to see how much the Trinity Guild players have developed. They were quick to support in the breakdown and competed well there. We look forward to playing them again.
