U14s win against Stow 64-0

A strong squad turned out to compete against a very hard working Stow side. The Shipston defence was virtually impenetrable - with Stow barely able to get out of their own half. This was definitely a Forwards game - the Shipston power pack were having fun and showed some very impressive mauling and powerful rucking too. So many highlights: JP charging through the Stow pack time and time again; George V always making ground; George M flying through the try line twice; Adam’s strong conversion rate; Yatesy being Yatesy; Ilyas tackling everything in sight; George H and Archie W controlling play through the centre; Olly’s true sportsmanship when clattered by a stinker, “great tackle mate!"…I could go on and on. Stand out memory has to be Matt Squance’s phenomenal run from behind halfway, dodging player after player and, in sight of the try line, showed maturity and discipline to pass to Henry, ensuring the try was made. Matt was rewarded in the second half with his own sterling try and the game closed out 64-0. Shipston expects every man to do his duty…the U14s showed that they really do respect all and fear none. Well done team!
