Shipston U14’s continued their great season with a 45-0 victory away to Barkers Butts on 22 February.
In freezing conditions it took both sides a few minutes to settle but Shipston soon scored in the corner with a great try from hooker Alex Sabin. It was a tight first half with both teams driving through the forwards but Shipston eventually made their possession tell with tries from Will Baxter and Jamie McGinn to lead 17-0 at half time.
The Shipston backs then turned the game in the second half using their pace and handling to open up the defence. Further tries were scored by Henry Hopkins (2), Marcus Creagh and Sabin. Hopkins also added 5 conversions in a great kicking performance.
An outstanding defence once again shut out the opposition.
A special mention to the Warwickshire Young Whistlers referee who had a great game and controlled the players very well.
